HeartShaper

We are going back to a standard classroom approach to Sunday School, as of June 12th we will be using  the Heart Shaper curriculum.
After taking to our pastoral staff, teachers, and doing some praying, I chose HeartShaper. Here is why

At the beginning of each quarter a letter is sent home to each child telling you what your child will be studying. It will also have the memory verses your child will be learning.

Each week you/your child will be getting a weekly worksheet home. This is meant for the family to do. It could have songs, Bible readings, games or stories to talk about.

Each week your child will get a fun activity sheet to be  completed during the week and brought back to Church.

Just to let you know, each class will be working on different things at different times. One class could be working on Abraham and another class working on Moses.

I really hope you like this curriculum as much as we do. I think that this will be great for us!! Thank you.

As we explore the fashion of famous TV moms and we'll showcase some of their strangest looks! The moms will love the look back and the daughters will get a good dose of truth about peer pressure. Info letter sent home....

Dear Parents,
Happy New Year!! Let me start off by saying that I am looking forward to another amazing year with the children! I pray that this year is even better than last year and with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can continue to teach our children to drink from the well of the Lord.
For the better part of last year, we have been using the PowerXpress Rotation curriculum. For the most part it has been successful, but there, like most things, some things that need to be changed to meet the needs of our group. I would like to share with you some of the things that will be evolving in 2011.
We will be starting a quarterly newsletter just for the children. This will be listing what units we will be studying, special events, and other fun information. I will be
placing this on the Children’s Ministry information table outside of my office downstairs.
We will also be requiring the children to bring a Bible to Sunday School. To keep things simple for the children, we would like for each child to have the same bible. We will be using the Adventure Bible. I have looked at Walmart, CBO, Barns and Noble, and Lifeway stores, I can get the best price on a bulk order. The Bibles are 17.00 and I would like to order these by the end of January. All students will need a bible. If you are not able to buy a Bible at this time, there are scholarships available, please contact me.

Another change is to the way you will pick up and drop off your child. ALL CHILDREN NEED TO BE SIGNED IN BY A PARENT. The Check in system is downstairs in the children’s wing. If you do not have your key tag, I can print one for you. The children will not be let out of Becker Hall after Children’s time if they are not wearing a name tag. Also, when your are picking your children up after Sunday School, they will all be in room 17, directly across from the youth room. You will need the security sticker. This is for the safety and protection of all of our children.
We are going to be opening a store very soon (I knew all the years as a store manager would come in handy sometime!). The children will be able to earn “Bible” Bucks” for different things, coming to Sunday School, bringing a friend, and bringing there bibles, just to name a few. The children will be able to save there money and trade it for some neat stuff. Some of these things will be Bible related, some of them may not be. I hope that this gets them excited about growing in there faith!
I will be updating the children's website www.bv1stkids.blogspot.com the 1st and 15th of every month (or when something big comes up), you can subscribe on the site and you can get an email to let you know that information has been added.
I pray that over the next year our children grow in mind, body and faith. Thank you for allowing your child to be a part of my life, and thank you for allowing me the wonderful opportunity to our Lord in this amazing way! As always, if you have any questions, ideas, or comments please contact me my phone is always on!
